In addition to the room rates above, we are required to collect Panamanian taxes totaling 15% (10% IPAT & 5% Local Taxes).
Most guests who rent an entire house prefer to do their own cooking, and to enjoy the privacy of not having a “stranger” in the house early in the morning. Therefore, Breakfast is not included with Whole House Rentals. Should you prefer to have a cook for your breakfast, this can be arranged for an additional fee of $50 per day.
Daily housekeeping service is included from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with a one-time $50 per stay cleaning fee. The housekeeper will clean up after your breakfast, will clean the house daily, and will change towels and linens every three days.
The island is small so everything is within easy walking distance. We recommend you relax, enjoy and take in island life by walking around the island. We have golf carts for rent if you prefer not to walk. The fleet is limited, so let us know in advance if you wish to reserve.
Our two houses are located on a quiet residential street within walking distance of all of the island’s beaches, restaurants and shops. The houses sit amidst lush tropical vegetation, home to a variety of birds, iguanas and other island wildlife.
Each house has a fully equipped kitchen which contains the following: six burner gas stove, microwave, toaster oven, blender, juicer, coffee maker, large refrigerator/freezer, laundry facilities (for an extra charge), dining table for eight, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and cleaning supplies.
There is also a fully equipped kitchenette unit and a table with two chairs in one of the private bedroom suites.
Each room can be individually locked and is equipped with:
- Air conditioners and ceiling fans
- A safety deposit box
- Private bathroom with hot and cold running water
- Most rooms have French doors opening onto a private deck area with a table and chairs.
The spacious floor plan includes two living areas, one that has a television, stereo, and DVD player for movie watching. Movie selection is limited so you may wish to bring your own favorites. Expansive outdoor decking allows plenty of room for outdoor parties and barbeques.
With a desire to acknowledge differences while allowing them to exist together in harmony, the inside of this home is a non-smoking environment. Smoking is fine on the open decks.
Helpful Info:
There is no ATM or bank on the island so you will want to bring sufficient funds for your stay. We accept cash and VISA and Master Card credit cards when you check in.
On the island you need only shorts, light cotton clothing, swimsuits and flip flops or water shoes. Remember to bring sun block, swimming suit, cap or hat, long sleeve shirt for protection from sun if you need it, comfortable walking shoes or sandals. And if you love birds and sea life you may wish to bring your binoculars. You may have to carry your own luggage at times so do yourself a favor and travel light. Your hotel in Panama City may store your excess luggage while you visit the island if you ask nicely.
You can buy a pre-paid phone card on the island for $10.00 and have a few hours calling time to the US if you need it.
We would welcome you as a guest and believe that you would thoroughly enjoy your stay in the house. Our guests tell us that this feels like their home away from home and, although we only opened on January 1st, 2005, we already have repeat guests.
“We loved the smallness of the inn. We loved that we could treat it like our home.
It was perfect for our family reunion.”
June, 2007 Rojas family from Colorado, U.S.A.
“With a family like ours (seven with kids), renting the whole house was the best option on the island!”
June, 2007 O’Connell family from Argentina
